Sandbridge... the Perfect Golf
Destination!
Along
with miles of beautiful beaches... Virginia
Beach also offers the best in golfing
pleasure. We are particularly proud of
Sandbridge's own Hell's Point Golf Course,
which was carved out of the lofty Virginia
pines at Sandbridge near the Atlantic Ocean
and the resort area of Virginia Beach.
If you're ready to heat up your game, Hell's
Point Golf Club is hard to resist. Renowned
golf course architect Rees Jones had a
devilish inspiration when he designed this
6,776-yard, par 72, 18-hole course with its
lakes, interesting fairway angles,
challenging greens and 61 sculptured
sandtraps. The course has received many
awards including Golf Digest's "One of the
Best New Courses" rating when it opened in
1982, as well as "Best of the Beach" by the
Virginian Pilot Reader's Poll 14 years
running. Hell's Point lures you to the first
tee with the promise of adventure and holds
you through the last hole with its masterful
challenges. Come visit Hell's Point and
discover for yourself why many golfers
visit... but few want to leave.
Hell's Point, along with dozens of other
fine courses, are just minutes away from
Sandbridge Beach. So if you enjoy quiet
walks along a secluded beach and the
challenge of a good game of golf...
Sandbridge Beach can provide the best of
both! Search for available beach home and
condo rentals (small or large groups) at

Back to Nature...
Sandbridge offers unspoiled beauty along its shores.

Situated
along the coastline at the southend of
Sandbridge, the Back Bay National
Wildlife Refuge contains about 7,700
acres of beach, dunes, woodland and
marsh. An additional 4,600 acres of the
bay’s shallow waters surrounding the
refuge’s marshy islands have been
designated by Presidential Proclamation
for the protection of migrating birds.A
visit to the refuge is a “must do” on
your vacation! Visitors to the refuge
have a variety of opportunities to
observe wildlife in its natural habitat
along various trails and dike roads.
Among the possible sightings in the
refuge are deer, wild horses, rabbits,
raccoons, opossums, minks, foxes, hawks,
osprey, owls, herons, swans, bald
eagles, loggerhead turtles and, in the
surf… pilot whales and dolphins.
Whistling swans, Snow and Canada geese
and several species of ducks frequent
the refuge from fall through early
spring. Peak waterfowl populations can
number in the tens of thousands, with
numbers in the range of 100,000
waterfowl using the refuge in a given
year. The mallard, widgeon, gadwall, and
black duck are the most numerous in
population.
Little
Island is the starting point for
excursions to the Back Bay Wildlife
Refuge and False Cape State Park that
are otherwise only accessible by boat.
Daily tram rides leave the park for an
excursion through the refuge to False
Cape where visitors can spend two hours
hiking and sightseeing before the return
trip.
For more
information about this unspoiled
wilderness, contact the Back Bay
National Wildlife Refuge (757) 721-2412.

Sandbridge... the Outer Banks Of Virginia
Sandbridge
Beach is a quaint seaside village perfect for a slow paced, relaxing
vacation. Sandbridge means no deadlines, no traffic, no worries, no shoes.
Just a peaceful retreat where time slows down. A place where dolphin pods
and lines of pelicans are an everyday occurrence. Where neighbors wave to
strangers, where children learn to surf... chase sandpipers... and build
sandcastles. A place where the living is easy and everyday pressures wash
away with the changing tide.
Locals will tell you Sandbridge is more
of “a feeling” than a place. It’s about
enjoying life, family bonds, sandy toes,
and the wonders of nature. Although the
beach and number of rentals has grown
over the years, the true "essence" of Sandbridge remains the same. It’s nice
to know some things never change.
