From the plains of Africa to your own backyard, the Virginia Zoo has a world of discovery for you. Open year round, the Virginia Zoo offers family fun, education and excitement for everyone.

Meet elephants, lions, kangaroos, meerkats and more. Go nose to nose with prairie dogs in their interactive habitat where viewing bubbles allow you to get up close and personal with these entertaining creatures.  The Virginia Zoo is home to 400 animals, on 53 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds. View endangered red wolves. Get up close to a loggerhead turtle and moon jellies. See fish with no eyes and frogs that change colors. Touch live spider crabs and fossilized dinosaur tracks.
